Sculptural Shogun floor lamp, designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta for Artemide in 1986.

With its striking black-and-white graphic design, this impressive floor lamp perfectly reflects Botta’s architectural approach to design. The lamp features a distinctive striped metal stem, a heavy cast-metal base and two adjustable perforated steel diffusers, allowing the light to be directed and creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow.

The Shogun is one of Mario Botta’s most recognizable lighting designs and has become an important icon of 1980s Italian postmodern design. The floor version is no longer in production, making original examples increasingly difficult to find and particularly desirable among collectors of rare and architecturally significant design.
