A rare and highly collectible U-Line ST11 floor lamp, designed by Belgian designer Maarten Van Severen in 1997 for Light, Belgium.

This exceptional floor lamp is a beautiful example of Van Severen’s unmistakable design language: radical simplicity, technical precision and an almost architectural approach to form. Reduced to its essential elements, the design transforms a functional lighting object into a powerful sculptural presence.

The lamp is executed in anodized aluminium and features a slender, minimalist structure with a rotating vertical rod and an adjustable light arm, allowing the direction and position of the light to be adapted with great flexibility.

As one of the early U-Line productions, the ST11 occupies an important place within Maarten Van Severen’s body of work. The U-Line collection represents his exploration of lighting through the same principles that defined his furniture: clarity, functionality, reduction and precision.

Original U-Line examples have become increasingly sought after by collectors of Belgian and international twentieth-century design. This early edition is particularly desirable as the original design has since been reinterpreted in a contemporary version by Wästberg.
